A couple of photos I took in September 2017, when the Gatelodge at Crossbasket, High Blantyre was being renovated. The white external paint was stripped off the little lodge house back to the original stone.
The building dates to the 1840’s, built by Crossbasket owner, John Cabbell.
Today, it is beautifully renovated to a high, luxurious standard.

Paul Ford Only thing I say spoils it is that alarm box, it could’ve easily been put on the wall next to the road to save the facade having an eye sore on it as that’s the nicest part of the building.
