Blantyre has thankfully seen a real flurry of new businesses opening up these last few months. The latest ‘scoop’, if you forgive the pun, is another exciting new venture. I can exclusively reveal that a brand new Ice Cream Parlour opens up later this month on Glasgow Road, Low Blantyre!
“Frosty Joe’s” is a fantastic brand new shop shared between business partners Stevie, Des and Billy (pictured here earlier this week).
The shop, previously well known Mauchline newsagents, not far from the corner of Station Road, is currently being fitted out and is looking great inside with much of the renovation work already done. Attention turns now to the outside of the shop and getting things ready for customers and opening.
Frosty Joe’s will sell quality ice creams, cones, wafers, desserts , cakes, crepes and more!
Owner Stevie told me, ” I would love to say we’re opening next week but will see what this week brings. The renovation process has taken longer than first thought, but we do think we’ll be open soon!”
Blantyre once had many ice cream parlours, as many as seven over a hundred years ago. It’s something we’ve been lacking for several decades. This will be a welcome return to dedicated ice cream parlour premises and should delight children and adults alike.
I wish Frosty Joe’s owners and staff all the very best for their launch and look forward to visiting.
