A rather rare and unusual photo of the inside of High Blantyre Old Parish Church steeple!
Through kind and generous funding from the people of Blantyre, congregation and businesses, the steeple was made safe in 2013 and restored to its former glory. Indeed, the amount raised exceeded the cost of the repairs with enough leftover to restore the church bell, which can be heard each Sunday morning around 10.40am.

Marian Maguire I remember watching the men working on the outside of the steeple, the certainly had a head for heights. I was working in Kirk Care at the time.
Andy Bain Surprised there hasn’t been attempts to ‘silence’ the bell, but then the new houses nearby aren’t complete yet,,, has happened in other areas.
