2009 The Village Bar by J Brown
Residents were shocked, frightened and alarmed to discover the body of a man in bushes on Station Road on Sunday 5th March 1978.
Rumours spread fast of suspicions of foul play when the body of 51 year old Thomas Hilary was discovered on waste ground near the Village Bar. An injury to the man’s hand also raised police suspicions.
However by the following week, all suspicions were dropped when a post mortem revealed that the man had died of natural causes. Mr Hilary was of no fixed abode.
I have no other details about this man, so if you know more, please feel free to comment.
