Glencairn Laundry – a former mid 20th Century dry cleaners and laundrette shop in the lower floor of 2-storey Millar’s tenements on the north side of Glasgow Road, between John Street and Clark Street. During the 1970’s it was adjacent to a small grocer’s called Russo’s. Glencairn had premises in Motherwell. Their vans during the 1950’s would collect the laundry from houses around Blantyre and if the payment was made, a delivery service was offered too.
