Although this family photo was taken at Ardgarten, not far from Arrochar, it does feature 2 Blantyre people. Shared by Anthony Smith, this is little Anthony in August 1952 along with his grandfather Nickodemus Kakta who lived at Baird’s Rows.
Anthony told me, “I never knew my grandmother and hardly knew my grandfather.”
The family photo is especially treasured as Nickodemus passed away just 7 months later on 2nd March 1953, aged 77.
