At Hamilton Court on Monday 16th May 1927, Jane Conway or McSherry, an elderly woman residing at 50 Craig Street, Blantyre, was convicted of wilfully and maliciously cutting the walls of a house at 10 Thornhill Place in Blantyre.
She had been hacking and cutting the walls with a sharp instrument for an unknown reason, and smearing the ceilings with a black substance alleged to be coal gum. She was fined £5, and allowed a month for payment.
