Planning Application is now underway for the proposed major renovation of the David Livingstone Centre, just off Station Road.
The museum and grounds which opened in 1929 are due an expensive upgrade, with the intention to turn the centre into one of Scotland’s top tourist attractions. Planning has now been lodged with South Lanarkshire Council for this first phase which will also see improvements to the Africa Pavillions, lots more parking and landscaping.
In addition a rear extension is planned for Shuttle Row itself, the birthplace of our famous explorer.
