Shuttle Row Aerial View

This is a great aerial shot captured by the late Neil Gordon in the 1990’s, above Shuttle Row, Low Blantyre. It serves as a great record for how things look at present, not just the buildings but the fountain and Africa Pavillions. Important why? Well, the museum is ready to be renovated and part of the plans includes the demolition of the stores building at the back and a large, new extension added on to the back of the buildings on the same side as the river.

With the added possibility of relocating the fountain and new gift shop premises, this scene in 2 years time, is going to look extremely different.
