Carrigans rising from the ground

This series of photos was taken by Gordon Cook back in early 2015 when the construction of the first phase of the new Carrigans Building in Broompark Road got underway.

The Carrigan family acquired some of the former Larkfield bing and excavation commenced for their new premises in Autumn 2014. Through Autumn and Winter 2014 and much of 2015, the land at the side of John Carrigans was a construction site, as the new multi million pound development rose from the ground.

John Carrigans old Pub and Restaurant in Broompark Road  last sold food to a paying customer on Sunday 31st January 2016, on account of the new restaurant, built beside it opening on Friday 5th February 2016. The old brick pub and restaurant, formerly the Manhatten was entirely demolished on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 234rd March 2016 and at time of writing, construction of the new pub and function venue is underway.
