John Docherty emailed me in January with the attached photo from 12th September 1937. John said,

“I have been a follower of your FB page for some time, because of a family connection to the area ,my mother Annie Docherty Ms Hanson was born at 16 Station Rd and have an older brother still living in H Blantyre.I submit this photo of men on retreat at Craighead,1937.My father Charles Docherty(Charlie)is 3rd right 2nd top row with his hands on the shoulders of Mr John McIlroy,others i recognise a Mr Duffy front row middle ,a Mr Mccafferty 2nd row 3rd right most of these men would be from the the parish of St Charles Newton and from the villages of Westburn Hallside and Caldervale(fin-me-oot).

If any of your followers (of a certain age) recognises any of these gentlemen I would be happy to take any suggestions.I have lived in Australia for forty one years and these old photos are bothering me somewhat in that time seems to be passing at a fair clip and i have lost time in not putting names to them.My photo is me left and a Blantyre resident John Bell whom i have not had any contact with since 1959/60 . Hope to hear some replies. John”
