COME RIGHT UP!
Interesting to see the invite to Blantyre residents. “Come right up!” meaning for them to travel the short distance up the hill at Sydes Brae. A Char-a-banc was a type of horse drawn vehicle that could accommodate many people in the carriage behind, but by the 1920’s these had generally become motorised, as pictured in this 1920s photo.
