Milheugh Bridge Views 1970s

Milheugh Stone Bridge pictured in the 1970’s. The bridge is still heavily laden with graffiti, so nothing new there. This was a favourite stopping off point on my playtime travels in the late 1970s and early 80s. The other photo is from the top of the bridge looking westwards and upstream at the River Calder.

Jim Cochrane The wee corner at the end of the bridge has always been a nuisance when going over tractors and machinery. Its 10 feet between the walls but you can only get 8 feet wide things over it ,nearly 9 if its short.Loads of trucks now think they can get over it as all the scrapes at the corner prove and more than a few have damaged the walls
