1967 Bedford from Blantyre ready to go to Australia. Shared by J. Cochrane
Jim Cochrane sent in these photos, which remarkably show his family Bedford Van in 1967, travelling from Watson Place , Blantyre, over to Australia by ship, for a holiday, then back again! A great part of that holiday must have been spent actually on the ship itself. What an adventure.
Pictured is the lockup garage at 6 Watson Place that his family stored the vehicle in an a few photos from 1967 of the family house, long before the steel cladding renovations.
Pictured also is the van awaiting to be loaded to go to Australia, and photos on board the ship. Jim told me of the black and white photos with the van, “These were in Australia possibly on an earlier trip. My Aunt Liz on the right, My Uncle Hugh and Aunt Jessie to the Left . They Were My Grandfathers and uncle Bill’s Brother and his wife who both lived in Australia.”
