I recently bought a high resolution photo of David Livingstone. The photo is commonly known, taken by Thomas Annan in 1864 or 1865 when Livingstone was back home on a visit from Africa. Now in amazing resolution, I can zoom in on detail on the photo, even to the detail on his skin and eyes. It was a nice addition to the growing collection of good quality photos, here on this website.
Livingstone, born in 1813, was 52 in this photo. That same year, this sketch was made, which has a close resemblance.
