Annie Shepherd Swan (1859-1943) was a Scottish author, born in Midlothian. She is known primarily for her romantic fiction novels but also wrote short stories, poetry, and books on political topics. During her lifetime, Annie wrote around 200 books, mostly under her maiden name, but also used the pen name David Lyall, and her married name, Mrs Burnett-Smith.
