A lovely photo of the “Counting House” or also known as “The Wages Building”, at Blantyre Village Works, near the David Livingstone Centre. Likely taken in the 1970’s, this Summer scene looks idyllic with what is certainly a very distinctive building for Blantyre.

Originally part of a longer building, this is what remains today. Here, the building looks renovated and sits alone amongst the trees. The vantage point is from the top of the steps leading up to the turnstiles at the Centre itself. In the background are the woods at Bothwell, the river being directly behind the building.

Thanks to Gordon Cook for sharing the photo.
