1940 Agnes Melville, shared by J Cochrane
Jim Cochrane shared another family photo, adding, “My Gran Cochranes Sister Agnes (Melville) .This picture dates from about 1940 when she joined the Womans Land Army. Agnes was posted to farms in the North East of Scotland mostly Morayshire where she worked on various farms .
She found that she liked farm life and the area and also met her future husband there so she never returned to Blantyre after the War. This was actually good for my Gran and her Family as they spent nearly every Summer holiday from then on with my aunt Agnes and uncle Ronnie McRobbie in the big house on the Farm where they lived. Even I spent every summer holiday there up untill i was about 16.”
