Blantyre man Gordon Cook has a very interesting hobby (amongst others). His wonderful collection of old Robertsons ginger and beer bottles will form a display in a glass cabinet in Hamilton Reference Library next month (April 2015). The whole display is about food and drink. The cabinet is now ready and I’m sure you’ll agree, thats quite a collection of Blantyre memorabilia!
I look forward to seeing it next time I visit.
Does anyone have a Robertson’s Blantyre bottle with a marble in the neck? These are known as Codd bottles after the patentee, but often smashed by Victorian/Edwardian children for the marble.
