2015 March 14th . Jimmy Mays hot food shop opens in Main Street at 10.30am
Well done and Congratulations to Jimmy Mays on Main Street. Their SECOND shop opened on Main Street today Saturday 14th March 2015 at 10.30am.
Located immediately between the High Blantyre Post Office and their original shop on Main Street, the SECOND shop promises a hot food theatre, complimenting their existing shop next door serving all other cold foods.
The new shop was originally a small convenience store. Blantyre Project has sponsored Jimmy Mays by donating a massive poster with a High Blantyre Kirkton Scene on it. The old photo, originally supplied by Alex Bowie of Strathaven, was taken by his

relative (and a distant relative of mine), David Ritchie, whom, co-incidentally lived on Main Street just a few yards from the shop location itself, back in 1905. It seemed a fitting way to remember David over 110 years later and a wonderful backdrop and talking point for the back wall of the new shop. Every customer coming through the door is going to see that scene.
