Sometimes, you’ve just got to admit there’s a need to post “the bad” alongside these wonderful “good” photos on this site. This will do nothing to promote Blantyre, but the problem does need highlighted.

On 10th November 2014 , Andy Bain told me, “Not all photos of Blantyre show it’s ‘nice’ side Paul, I’ve sent photos to council in the past re; illegal dumping & get fobbed of with a bog standard email stating they’ll get back to me, the one about the tyres at ‘General’s bridge for instance I started taking back in Nov; last year & sent copies to the council, it took nearly 6mths for them to act, though I reckon someone with clout brought it to their attention. The dumping on Auchentibber Rd; I don’t know if they addressed that as I haven’t been able to go back for months but I also forwarded copies to the ‘relevant’ dept; The last site sadly is nearer you on Bardykes Rd; near the stopped up access path to the woodland opposite an old cottage, on speaking to the elderly chap I met that day he indicated the occupants of a house opposite this dumping was actually responsible for it being there, not the sort of pictures that show Blantyre at it’s best.“
