c1900 – 1910s Craigneith Castle

A wonderful photo of Craigneith Castle, on the Blantyre side of the Rotten Calder River.

It’s difficult to date exactly, but the fashions of the mature woman on the left, show it may be around late 1890s – 1910. A woman sits with a book in hand, perhaps a visitor of nearby Calderwood Castle out for a stroll, to this folly.
