2014 Hamilton Technology Park
It pains me to say this, but Hamilton Technology Park is actually IN Blantyre. It is within the boundaries of Blantyre Parish and really should have been called ‘Blantyre Technology Park’. It annoys me greatly that the boundary doesn’t appear to be considered in the naming of the park, which is now a major central hub of business and commerce.
The boundary of the Parish is the burn running through the middle of this aerial view. To the South East is Westcraigs, which ironically, has mostly Blantyre postal codes, but is actually official within Hamilton’s mapped boundaries! (although this is ignored for postal reasons and Westcraigs is known locally as Blantyre).
