1950s Old Parish Sunday School, shared by Elizabeth Weaver
Next is a photo from the late 1950’s of Blantyre Old Parish Sunday School. Elizabeth Weaver, who shared this photo added, “here’s a photo taken at a Sunday School party (Blantyre Old). My brother should have been there but he must have avoided the photo I know some of the boys – Iain McAlpine, Henry Hambley and Duncan Shaw…Colin Smith and one of the Rochheads, I think? Taken late 50s in the old church hall, now demolished.“
The Blantyre Old Parish Church Halls at the corner of Main Street and Hunthill Road were built in 1893 and were demolished in 1989.
