A charming photo from 1915 showing the Western side of Hunthill Road.
A group of eight children stand out on the narrow pavement and at the doors of the thatched weavers cottages. Some carry baskets, perhaps on errands. Old gas lamp standards line the pavement and the stone on the buildings appears to be whitewashed, yet marked and dirty on the lower two foot due to the dirty pavements and roads.
