Blantyre Old Parish Church has recently received a new minister. Sarah was welcomed to the Parish in recent weeks. This reminded me of an old Church newsletter that i still had. Passed to me from my mother, (as i was only 5 at the time), the newsletter features a picture of the Church in 1976, the welcome letter of Rev Silcox and features a photo of him and his family. Some of our readers may remember Mr Silcox and his sermons. He was a very pleasant and accommodating person. I’m sure the new minister will be just as popular. (If anybody from the Parish Church is reading this, feel free to pass this article and it’s contents on to Sarah on my behalf). Thanks.
