Hope everybody had a good Halloween yesterday. It was great seeing so many fantastic costumes on all the guisers again this year.
Seeing pumpkins on doorsteps everywhere got me thinking about the past. Pumpkins weren’t something I’d ever see in Blantyre in the 1970s or 80s when out going round the doors. It was carved neeps i saw. Granted, it’s much harder to carve out a turnip than a pumpkin. So, does anybody still carve out neeps these days?
