I’ve been playing around with AI again this week, in particular to take static images of old 1970s Blantyre and create a small video from them. This video, though only a few seconds, never actually happened, but is stitched together from a couple of 1977 photos of the bottom of Stonefield Road, at its junction with Glasgow Road..
This little 5 seconds is just enough to evoke some nostalgic feelings.
It’s by no means perfect, but if we’re ever wanting to see again how the old Blantyre streets looked and felt a half century ago, this is about the closest thing we’ll get to. However, It’ll never be a substitute though for uncovering real footage of the place and time. So, this video is artificially created, what do you think, then?
