From a photo in a collection shared to Blantyre Project, this is the former Calderwood Castle. Pictured from the River Calder, the building sat on the East Kilbride side of the river.
More is known. It’s thought this was taken in the first decade of the 1900s, meaning it’s over 110 years old and the photographer was Mr David Ritchie of High Blantyre.
