The members, wives and friends of Blantyre’s Lodge Livingstone No. 599 were dancing the night away one Friday evening in October 1977.
The Lodge’s big social event of the year, the annual Dinner Dance was held in Whitehill Civic Centre.
Right Worshipful Master of 599, Mr Robert Dow, sits centre. The Lodge was soon to get a new R.W.M in Mr John Kyle (front row, second from left). He lived in Carluke and was installed at the end of that year.
Also at this dance was the I.P.M. of 599’s neighbouring Lodge Kilwinning No. 557. Members and guests at the function enjoyed a meal and then took to the dance floor for the rest of the evening. By all accounts, the night was an outstanding success. With this being a photo of Blantyre folk, recognise anybody?
