The youth teachers pictured here at Blantyre’s Playgroup in December 1977 were employed under a government Job Creation Scheme called “Springboard Lanark,” a theatre group which toured Strathclyde putting on shows and bringing smiles to children’s homes, hospitals and playgroups.
The Group came to Blantyre in mid December 1977 and soon had the kids joining in with their play about Christmas. These are Blantyre kids. Recognise anybody?
