The Glasgow Summer Fair is usually a little quieter in Blantyre due to families being away on holiday, but there was certainly plenty going on at Blantyre Community Centre during the 1970s to keep kids amused and entertained.
The Centre ran a summer play scheme for kids aged between 5 and 12 with organisers doing all they could to ensure kids weren’t bored during the summer holidays. A similar play scheme took place at the Elizabeth Scott Centre at Logan Street.
