March 1977 saw Blantyre Travel Agent Carlo Lombarie head off to New York.
Although Carlo (left) toured Manhatten’s famous concrete canyons, saw Radio City Music Hall, Central Park and visited the Statue of Liberty, it was no holiday, but instead “all in a days work” for the Thomas Cook agent.
He was a member of a group of travel agents that month from all over Scotland who were flown over to New York by Aer Lingus as part of the Irish Airline’s Educational programme for agency staff.
Pictured leaving Glasgow Airport on the 3 day visit, alongside Carlo is Aer Lingus Glasgow passenger sales rep, Derry Crowley.
