Flora Devine (nee Loughran) is pictured here in the mid 1930’s along with other residents of Calderdale (Fin Me Oot). Flora is marked with an arrow. I can imagine these women looking after their households, tending the house and kids whilst the men were in the pit. I bet they worked just as hard as the husbands! Does anyone know any of the other ladies in the photo.My dad Robert Guy would have been 4 years old at that time.
