Another old Blantyre photo today, though again I don’t have much information. Photographed by Blantyre man David Ritchie, this cheery wee baby sits on a lovely button backed chair. The photo is a little blurry, which is to be expected being so young and not able to sit still yet. I think this is one of the photographer’s children and likely dates from between 1895 – 1905.
With no other information on this and unlikely to be identified, the photo is shown here out of interest only, to show the fashions of the time and I’ve just noticed those little feet sticking out from the gown! To think this person has lived out there whole life since this was taken and now no longer on this earth.I hope this wee soul had a happy life.
