This tranquil scene is High Blantyre, pictured from Sydes Brae looking across to Douglas Street and Main Street.
Taken in the early 1960’s and not seen online until now, you can see across to Priestfield Farm, long before the Jerusalem houses were built. On the left at the back, is the former large Manse at Blantyre Old Parish Church.
This is all very different now, rolling fields and Bings, replaced by modern homes and the EK Expressway.
