Another postcard from Gordon Cook showing the world fountain at the David Livingstone Memorial Centre. This time taken from the opposing view from yesterday, looking across the expansive playing fields. The small trees are now incredibly tall, lining the straight path at the far side of the grounds.
As seen, sheep were a good way of keeping the grass short, the centre often letting the fields out to local farmers, like for example, Peter Wilkie.
Today, this view would be looking over to the new playpark and beyond. Whilst it looks fairly bare with little landscaping back in the day, its good in this photo to actually see the fountain in operation and fully functional!
