Coin Found at Blantyre Priory

This coin was found at Blantyre Priory a couple of decades ago. It’s a British coin, the currency being a halfpenny, belonging to the time of George III. It’s being dated to 1806!

Around 3cm in diameter, the coin which is over 215 years old is fairly worn and is held for safe keeping at Low Parks Museum in Hamilton. I have to wonder who dropped it and what they were doing at the Priory that day, which even then was in ruins.
