Milheugh Bridge

Going back to the end of the 19th Century with this sketch showing a man fishing at Blantyre’s very own Milheugh Bridge! At the bottom of the Pech Brae and Lindsay Hill, this was the former bridge, before the current sandstone one. A nice depiction showing the Rotten Calder in its beautiful surroundings.

This illustration was in the 1885 “Annals of Blantyre’ book, so we know it’s at least 136 years ago.

Looks like the chap has caught something!
