1940s’ Greenhall House Garden

A last look for now at Greenhall House in High Blantyre. These are the former gardens, which once sat at the side of the grand house. The road in the background is now the Carpark at Greenhall, so this area here would be where the low, black railings and seats currently now, the ground sloping downwards as it still does now.

Of course, when this photo was taken almost 80 years ago, the house was privately owned, so this was a private garden tended to by the Paul family. Its all rather more beautiful than what’s there now, sadly.
