An absolutely cracking high resolution photo of St Joseph’s School Chapel. A snowy wintry scene from over 100 years ago. This former building once say where now the St Jospeph’s Hall is located on Glasgow Road, opposite the junction of Stonefield Road.
The stone walls and pillars are actually listed, requiring to be protected and preserved. In recent weeks, St Joseph’s have replaced the capstones of the pillars, being very mindful to create the similar look in keeping with the style from this era. This building wasn’t just the chapel, it was also a school and in its latter years will be remembered also for the playgroup there.
