Gail Sampaio recently shared this treasured family photo.
Gail told me, “This photo is of my late mum, Mary Stewart (née Mcgrail) and her family the Mcgrails who lived in Welsh Drive, Blantyre. I think she must be around 2-3 years old in the photo, so this must be around 1929 as she was born in 1926.
My mum is the little girl sitting on my granny’s knee. My gran was Elizabeth Mcgrail. The other children are mum’s brother and sisters, Agnes, Julia, Lizzie, Martha and Jimmy. Mym passed away in 2015 and is survived only by Jeanette (the youngest child) who is now in Australia.”
