Airman John Gilmour , (based in Preston) was married to Jessie Hodson Reid of 3 Ulva Place on 6th October 1941. The couple tied the knot at Stonefield Parish Church as this certificate shows.
Settling at Station Road, their marriage was ever so brief, for in 1945, Jessie, sadly died of TB. Her funeral costs of just over £26 are outlined on the receipt attached for Harper’s Central Garage.
John Gilmour did remarry and it is his daughter Sheena Thomson who has kindly provided this information.
