Pictured in the early 1980’s is the inside workshop of RG Barrett & Co.
The business was located at 19 Church Street, in the garage at the end of the street.
The painted block and brick walls, loads of machinery and equipment for auto repairs.
According to my notes, this workshop was built in 1912 by William Adam junior, a joiner and builder based at High Blantyre. The workshop was built around 6 years after Mr Walter Batters built many adjacent homes on Church Street.
