‘A significant plan to save the historic Auchentibber Farm Buildings and develop the surrounding area for agricultural use has been lodged with South Lanarkshire Council.
A consultation phase is now underway which seeks input, suggestions and comments from everybody in our community and to present plans to establish a working agricultural estate, renovate the fire damaged farmhouse, providing a new family home and to return the land to a farming use.
Barton Willmore (on behalf of the estate owners) have lodged a proposal of ‘application notice’ and it should be noted it’s not yet a planning application.

Its hoped that all comments from the public can be taken on board before any official submission to planning progresses.

A live interaction day is planned online on Friday 5th June 2020 between 10am and 4pm where members of the project team will be available to respond to questions submitted.

I wasn’t having any of the Caldergrove Estate name proposed initially! Have to say sincere thanks to Barton Willmore over the last week in considering and changing the proposed name from ‘Caldergrove Estate’ to Auchentibber Farm Estate. Anyways, theres already a Caldergrove Estate nearby. The name is wholly more appropriate, protecting Blantyre history and heritage and its great to see the landowners listening to Blantyre people right from the onset.
Speaking to members of the community, the news also comes as a relief that the land won’t be used for a private housing estate and instead will remain green, open and being used for agriculture, a return to its original use. With over 6 miles of fencing already erected, it’s hoped this will also go a long way to reducing fly tipping in High Blantyre.
The public consultation will be open until 26th June 2020.
