Ruins at the Clyde side

Following the post the other day about the Suspension Bridge, a few people have messaged me to say there are other ruins at that location where the bridge piers used to be. Namely, culverts, foundations of riverside mill buildings and abutments. These are pictured from a few years ago, including some interesting finds like drainage channels and ornate brickwork. I have to admit, I still have to investigate this area properly, something i intend to do once lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Has anybody been to this location upstream of the weir? What do you make of these finds?

Thanks to Gordon Cook for sharing these photos.
