Who remembers Blantyre band “Don Star and the Midnights”?

  1. Awe great comments! My dad, Bobby played guitar in the band and has lots of amazing stories/memories from then.

    1. Hi!Clare, I was shocked to find this post today and another last night which said that you are Bobby’s daughter and that he was 80 years old. I remember the day that your dad bought his guitar – he could not play a note – but he quickly learned and did good for himself. I played a bit of piano but I stayed with my Dad’s band – Peter McPhail – and we played for 6 years until I moved away from Blantyre – infact to an area where Bobby used to frequent via his work at Blantyre Engineering. It’s aslo where his dad came from. I would love to contact you and your dad to sort of catch-up. You see, we lost contact BUT before the band stuff we were inseparable. Hope he is keeping well.
      Regards: Frank McPhail
