This week’s video is 3 and a half minutes of pure Blantyre 1960s! I wasn’t alive in the 60s, but having researched so extensively over the years, I hope I’ve captured a flavour of how things were.
The 60’s was a time of great change. In Blantyre there was prefabs, expansion of the Industrial Estate, playing outside, the simplest of times. The video also features the falls, well kept parks and of course some well known faces.
I’m enjoying making these videos. As we head into times many people will remember, I hope this brings back some memories for some. Many more videos to come. Meantime, I hope you like this.
