Another photo from the early 1990s. Can you remember Swiss Cottages, on Priestfield Street? I hope to write about these little cottages sometime next year as part of a more detailed look at High Blantyre.

Lillias Addison My aunt and uncle and family stayed in the first one going into Priestfield Street their name was Davidson

Margaret Crookston We moved to Priestfield street in the 1980’s. A Mrs Wands and Rab Meldrum stayed in two of them and I think it was one of the Beatons in the other at that time.

Henry Hambley I hadn’t heard this name for many years and it brought back many nostalgic memories. Why were they called “Swiss Cottages” ?
