October’s been a fantastic month for Blantyre Project book sales, perhaps due to attention turning towards Christmas time, or maybe as I’m not having a stall at the festive market this year?!
Anyways, thank you to all the people around the world who bought a book or two and I’m pleased to say, October sales after costs, generated a whopping £178.44, certainly one of the best months yet!
As always it will be given in it’s entirety to “Blantyre Telegraph” for 100% distribution to good causes all over Blantyre. During the last 4 weeks, several causes with benefiting the WHOLE community were picked out. Money raised has gone to Blantyre Library to replenish lending books and produce a brand new corner display for the public, supported local business Flowers to Go by buying a wreath to remember Dixon’s Memorial and also buying a large poppy wreath, on behalf of the whole community, ahead of remembrance. The remaining cost went to renew the website hosting here at Blantyre Project for 2019 and to ensure it continues to be the best it can be, (an annual hosting charge I can’t avoid).
You can see all donations we’ve made to local good causes, here in a visible, transparent manner. https://theblantyretelegraph.wordpress.com/raised/
This takes the total raised for 110 local Blantyre Causes by Blantyre Project and Blantyre Telegraph to a massive £19,494.38!! It REALLY has done so much good all over Blantyre over the last few years. I can’t believe that’s been accomplished by getting local history out to people and a few notable fundraisers. Thank you for all your continued support and especially to those people buying books each year as gifts. Long may it continue.
